Staff:

Greg Guzman

(Hitting, Pitching, Catching, Baserunning, Defensive Instructor)

With 14 years of college coaching experience and 10 years of travel team coaching experience, Greg Guzman has devoted much of his life to the great game of baseball. He is the current head coach for Muskegon Community College’s baseball program and he has assisted in well over 275 wins throughout his many years of working with the team. Greg has also acted as a college hitting instructor for 12 years, and in 2009 he coached his baseball travel team to a National Final Four.

Garrett Moyer

(Hitting, Infield, Outfield Instructor)

Having played baseball for both Muskegon Community College and Upper Iowa University, Garret Moyer uses the knowledge and skills he developed as a player to impact his effectiveness as a coach. He is currently an assistant coach for Muskegon Community College’s baseball team, and he has previously acted as the assistant coach for Reeths-Puffer High School’s baseball team.

Kevin Dalson

(Hitting, Defensive Instructor)

Kevin Dalson’s impressive history as a successful baseball player began at Ottawa Hills High School where he earned 1st Team All-State. He then went on to play at Michigan State University for four years as a starter. At the end of his collegiate career he led in hits, runs, doubles, and stolen bases, and he was also named All-Conference in the Big 10 Tournament. In 1989, he caught the attention of the Major League when he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs Organization.

Jim Fillmore

(Pitching Instructor)

As a current assistant coach for Muskegon Community College’s baseball program, Jim Fillmore fuses his knowledge as a former collegiate athlete with his experience as a successful coach in order to instruct and improve the players on his team. He has also coached baseball at both White Cloud High School and Grant High School, and he was, at one time, a player for Lake Michigan College.

Shane Beach

(Hitting, Catching, Baserunning, Defensive Instructor)

With an extensive background as both a coach and an athlete, Shane Beach offers the unique ability to train players of all ages in areas ranging from basic fundamental skills to more advanced techniques. As an athlete, he has played for both St. Clair Community College and Grand Valley State University, and after his college career he went on to play for Team USA.  As an instructor, he has acted as the former assistant coach for both Davenport University and Grand Valley University. He is currently an assistant coach for Muskegon Community College’s baseball program.

Abigail Benedict

(Hitting, Defensive Instructor)

As a self-identified softball fanatic, Abigail Benedict’s passion and knowledge for the game runs deep. She has experience playing at the collegiate level for both Aquinas College and Muskegon Community College, where her team won a National Championship in 2010. She currently holds the role as head coach for Muskegon Community College’s softball program.

Lindsey Greer

After graduating from Reed City High School, Lindsey Greer continued her softball career at Muskegon Community College. She is currently in her second year and is majoring in Pediatric Occupational Therapy.

Alicia Miller

With 9 years of experience as a softball instructor, Alicia Miller’s devotion as a coach is just as strong as her passion as a player. In 2009 she played on the club team at Grand Valley State University, and she is also an avid slow pitch softball player. She currently holds the role as assistant head coach for Muskegon Community College’s softball program.
